First Chop Brewery arrived at its first proper home in July 2013. Having previously rented time and space at Bury's Outstanding Brewery, First Chop's
8 BBL kit is now established under a railway arch near Chapel Street, just westward along the line from Salford Central Station. The arch is still anonymous from the outside, but good things are going on behind the door.

Joseph Holt's Empire Brewery is now the only remaining traditional family brewery left in the City of Manchester. The Empire Street brewery dates from 1860, and is less than a mile from where the buisiness had been founded about a decade earlier.
